Why have I received this notice?
You have received this notice because Nolan Interactive provides you or your organization with website, email or DNS hosting service and your account was selected for an upgrade designed to improve performance and security.
What is a “support ticket”?
A support ticket allows you to correspond with one of our support representatives using email and our online [customer support portal](). When you request technical support, we'll send you an email message containing a ticket id (or “case number”) and link to the [customer support portal](). When we post replies, everyone is notified by email.
Should I expect website, email or other service outages (downtime)?
In most cases, no. However, if you or a 3rd party manages your DNS, it is possible for a short period. In such situations, I will let you know ahead of time and take steps to minimize the impact.
Why are you upgrading my account?
Our hosting platform is comprised of various software and hardware devices including web, email and DNS servers. From time-to-time, we evaluate the usage, performance, and security of the platform. As a result, we may determine that performance can be improved by moving or upgrading accounts between devices to distribute the workload. We do this to improve performance and security.
How long will the upgrade take?
It depends on the service being upgraded, but the list below outlines typical scenarios.
- Websites typically take two to three days.
- Email service can take between two days to several weeks depending on how many email accounts are being upgraded.
- DNS service can take as little as a few hours. But changes to DNS service require between 24 to 48 hours to propagate throughout the internet.
Will this upgrade affect my bill?
No. In some cases, we may be able to lower the amount you are paying to Nolan Interactive.
How will my website be impacted?
Our goal with any upgrade is to improve the performance and security of your site. So you should notice a faster loading website and more reliable email service.
Will my email continue to work the same way after the upgrade?
Generally, yes. In most cases, your account will also include additional self-service features allowing you to make changes such as: changing email account passwords, adjusting spam filters, forwarding addresses and dozens of other improvements. Especially if your account currently resides on our Microsoft Windows platform.
